Fun chat with Bluehost Web Hosting

This is my fun live chat conversation with Bluehost (web hosting and domain company). Thanks to Anupam for being a good sportsman. He wasn’t supposed to go out this way. I just wanted a better price. Then I discovered that the communication back and forth was quite funny. I decided to screen record the conversation. Website hosting is primarily dominated by Newfold Digital (formerly Endurance International Group (EIG) and BizLand), an IT services company that specializes in this field. Most web hosts are bought or owned by this parent/umbrella company, and then downsized to a completely different business. Good web hosts are few and far between after Newfold steps in. After all, they have the resources to do it. I’d say the service experience with a Newfold company is sketchy at best, and prices are all over the place for similar offerings. What one person pays, another may be paying three or four times the amount in a sister company. I hope this silly talk not only highlights concerns about setting up websites for the average consumer, but also the need for a better consumer solution or government regulation.
